Position Summary
The Jr Project Accountant will be in a support role to the Accounting Department, assisting with day-to day accounting and administrative functions to assist the Project Accounting team to streamline processes. This position reports to the Manager of Project Accounting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Verify and code overhead invoices for approval for two offices
- Track Subcontractor and Supplier lien releases, confirm accuracy and file with respective paperwork
- Assist Project Accountants to ensure Subcontractors and Suppliers meet contractual requirements
- Track Subcontractor and Supplier Preliminary Notices on all projects, verifying accuracy, obtaining corrections as needed and maintaining logs and filing system
- Update and maintain project draw schedule and monthly project calendars
- Provide management team with weekly updated job cost reports on all projects
- Assist Project Accountants with Vendor and Subcontractor payment release
- Set up new project files and all necessary accounting schedules and reports
- Perform accounting responsibilities regarding project closeout
- Maintain paper and electronic filing system for all financial documentation
- Other miscellaneous projects as needed
