The position is accountable for performing a variety of accounting/fiscal work duties. This position performs accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue maximization and financial reporting duties. Such duties include invoice auditing, vendor maintenance, production/distribution of warrants, deposits, monitoring of expenditures to comply with State, Federal and Local guidelines, posting data to appropriate accounts in various State & local databases/ software, claiming, and completion of financial reporting required for State & Federal reimbursement
- Maintains vendor records, processes accounts payable transactions as assigned ensuring invoice accuracy, approval compliance, appropriate account coding, 1099 identification and related editing to ensure the accurate and timely processing of Community Services accounts payable financial transactions.
- Completes processing of reimbursement of certain client related accounts payable transactions to the Department of Human Services.
- Codes, records and deposits Community services receipts posting those transactions in various Local and State software/databases.
- Maintains ledgers and prepares analysis of various ledger accounts.
- Develops new procedures when changes in state or county policies or programs occur affecting fiscal matters under the supervision of the direct program coordinator/manager(s).
- Compiles data and prepares multiple statistical and financial reports to various government agencies for State and Federal reimbursement.
- Process's accounts receivables functions such as claiming for Community Services Case Management services. This involves auditing of worker's time activity to ensure maximization of revenue, processing claims within required timelines and investigating various funding sources.
- Operates standard office equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned in a highly effective and professional manner.
- Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance related field or equivalent knowledge gained from experience and/or education.
- Two or more years work experience of a similar nature and scope of responsibility.
- Knowledge of business arithmetic
- Knowledge of the principles of budget preparation and control procedures.
- Knowledge of state/federal/local governmental fund accounting, auditing and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of automated accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to plan and organize work
- Ability to perform detailed work timely and accurately.
- Ability to prepare and interpret complex fiscal reports and records.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
