Crowded Closet Thrift Shop, a large non-profit retail thrift store, is seeking an experienced servant leader to fill the role of Director. Lead in setting goals for continued shop growth and develop strategies for future advancements to our culture of excellence. You would work alongside a passionate team of staff and volunteers dedicated to fulfilling the mission of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) to share God's love and compassion for all by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operational Excellence: Work with the Board of Directors and Leadership Team to develop and implement Crowded Closet’s strategic plan and ensure alignment with its mission and values. Oversee all operations and provide leadership to management of donation receiving, processing, retail, and online sales.
- Talent Management: Build and lead an effective team that is dedicated to fulfilling Crowded Closet’s mission.
- Performance and Standards: Ensure financial and business controls through planning and reporting.
- Services and Programs: Ensure continued community involvement and education regarding the mission of Crowded Closet.
- Safety and Asset Protection: Ensure safety and protection of employees, assets and facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of experience in business or organizational management required and experience in a non-profit setting is preferred
- Supportive of the faith-based mission, values and identity of Crowded Closet
- Commitment to the mission of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), sharing God's love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice
- Demonstrated servant leadership and team building skills
Skills:
- Experience with hiring, managing and retaining a competent qualified staff
- Excellent communication, engaging with shoppers, donors and volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to reach and work with faith-based churches and community organizations
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation and reporting
- Excellent computer and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a Board on various topics, including future planning of the organization
Salary : $70 - $80
