Duties:
- Perform various tasks related to optical services, including but not limited to:
- Assisting customers with frame and lens selection
- Taking accurate measurements for prescription eyewear
- Adjusting and fitting eyeglasses
- Utilize knowledge of retail math to process transactions and handle payments
- Use electronic medical record (EMR) system for patient documentation and medical billing purposes
- Explain insurance coverage and calculate patient copays
- Provide exceptional customer service and engage in retail sales to meet the needs of patients
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Optical Technician or similar role preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of optical terminology, procedures, and equipment is a plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately perform measurements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry and record keeping
