Sr. Engineer, Data Science (Remote)

About the Role:

CrowdStrike's AI Innovation team is growing, aiming to deliver new capabilities in additional product spaces. This team is at the forefront of prototyping new AI-driven security capabilities for a wide variety of products. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the team and drive new research and development efforts, protecting endpoints, cloud, identities, data, and more. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge machine learning models and solutions that enhance our cybersecurity offerings. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive industry experience and technical expertise, and will collaborate with a variety of functions across engineering, as well as with research and PM functions in the wider organization. This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering in charge of AI-focused technical incubation.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the development of innovative AI-driven security solutions from concept to prototype.
• Design and implement advanced machine learning models, with a focus on modern NLP and GenAI technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine business requirements and define appropriate KPIs and metrics.
• Drive the model development process through all stages, from initial research to production-ready implementations.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of AI models into production environments.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, particularly in the field of cybersecurity.
• Educate colleagues on topics of AI and innovation, and contribute to the overall growth of the AI Innovation team.

What You'll Need:

• 7 years of hands-on experience in building complex AI-driven solutions.
• Deep understanding of ML Engineering practices and the full lifecycle of model development.
• Deep technical expertise in areas including, but not limited to, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, Neural Networks, and Machine Learning (ML).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects from conception to completion.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the cybersecurity industry or with security-related ML applications.
• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
