    Description:
    The Science TDSI is a key instructional leader dedicated to enhancing science instruction, improving student achievement, and supporting teacher growth. This role focuses on coaching teachers to refine instructional practices, fostering collaboration through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and providing targeted student interventions to close learning gaps and ensure success in science education. With 70% of the role focused on coaching, the Interventionist will engage in classroom observations, feedback cycles, and direct modeling of research-based science instruction. An additional 20% will be dedicated to PLC collaboration, ensuring the alignment of instructional strategies and curriculum best practices, while 10% will involve direct student intervention for those needing additional support.

    Qualifications:
    Education/Certification:
    • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Science or a related area (required)
    • Valid Texas teaching credentials in the area(s) and grade level(s) of assignment
    • Minimum 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience with demonstrated student success

    Job Summary:

    Instructional Coaching (70%)
    • Conduct classroom observations to assess instructional effectiveness and provide constructive
    feedback.
    • Model high-impact science instructional strategies, including inquiry-based learning, hands-on
    experimentation, and student-driven inquiry.
    • Support teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
    • Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching to improve instructional planning, questioning
    techniques, and assessment strategies.
    • Analyze student performance data to inform teacher coaching and instructional
    adjustments.
    • Assist in the integration of scientific literacy, real-world applications, and STEM-focused
    learning experiences into the curriculum.
    • Guide educators in best practices for the scientific method, problem-solving, and data
    analysis.
    Professional Learning Community (PLC) Collaboration (20%)
    • Facilitate data-driven discussions in PLCs to refine instructional approaches.
    • Support teachers in aligning science instruction with state standards, district initiatives, and
    Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
    • Assist educators in creating engaging, student-centered science lessons that promote critical
    thinking and exploration.
    • Lead collaborative planning sessions focused on phenomena-based learning, science literacy, and
    interdisciplinary STEM connections.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among teachers.
    Direct Student Interventions (10%)
    • Identify students needing additional science intervention through data analysis and teacher
    recommendations.
    • Implement targeted small-group or one-on-one interventions to address conceptual
    misunderstandings.
    • Use research-based intervention strategies to close gaps in scientific knowledge and
    reasoning.
    • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on performance data.
    • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create individualized learning plans for
    students.

    Salary:
    $62,810 – $74,315
    • Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience
    • Salary will be adjusted to the start date

    Program Stipend:
    • Stipends include additional days during the program academic year as outlined in the stipend agreement
    • ***STIPENDS ARE GRANT FUNDED***
    • FUTURE FUNDING IS BASED UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF THE GRANT
