Crown Automotive Group has an immediate opening for an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to work in our consolidated Payroll Office.
This full-time position compiles payroll data, enters data or computes and posts wages, and reconciles errors to maintain payroll records.
A minimum of 1-2 years of automotive payroll experience with 500 employees, is preferred. Candidates with this experience will receive primary consideration.

Responsibilities Include:
- Reconciles payroll schedule each week.
- Compiles payroll data, such as hours worked, sales or piecework, taxes, insurance, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records.
- Prepares computer input forms, enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions, using calculator, and posts to payroll records.
- Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Records changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
- Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments and or locations
- May prorate expenses to be debited or credited to each department or location for cost accounting records.
- May prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
- May keep records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
- May issue paychecks.
- Posts payroll, reconciles schedules and files.
- Attends department meetings as requested.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Complies with all policies as described in the Crown Employee Handbook.
- Other duties may be assigned, based on company’s needs.
Qualifications:
- Prefer 1-2 years' payroll experience with 500 employees.
- Automotive payroll experience is a plus!
- Typing, calculator, general computer skills a must
- Basic knowledge of 10-key functions
- Knowledge and experience with MS Excel. Ability to create spreadsheets in MS Excel.
- Basic knowledge of other MS Office / Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, etc...)
- Strong mathematical skills
