Job Summary
The Maintenance Lead reports directly to the Maintenance Manager with dotted-line responsibility to the Maintenance Supervisor. They collaborate as a team to keep the facility performing efficiently. Technicians drive continuous improvement forward through special projects, predictable maintenance, and timely repairs. This position organizes and facilitates maintenance on all production and facility equipment with emphasis on equipment up-time and to resolve quality and production-related issues including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting. A successful candidate will be a self-motivated, service-minded and well-rounded Technician. Must be an independent thinker that works well with a group of like-minded individuals. Must have efficient multi-craft maintenance technicians skills in the following areas: Electrical, PLCs, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Troubleshooting systems and processes.

This job operates in a production office environment. The employee is frequently exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machine.

Responsibilities
- Champions a safety culture, ensures a safe work environment, and promotes safe behavior.
- Monitors environment and becomes aware of conditions that may affect employee safety and security; takes corrective action.
- Communicates to ensure employees learn and comply with specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies.
- Prepares training plans and conducts or assigns tasks.
- Prepares documentation and provides performance feedback to introductory employees.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain manufacturing production equipment.
- Communicate and share maintenance challenges and issues to with appropriate technicians, departments and leaders.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, pneumatics and pumps.
- Troubleshoot and replace 3 Phase motors & VFDs.
- Read electrical schematics as well as interpret machine electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.
- Installs, modifies, and fabricates equipment to meet production requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement in safety, quality, and housekeeping.
- Other tasks as determined by the Maintenance Manager.
- Experience at coaching others and maintaining development documentation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision within a team environment.
- Must have good practical sense working with and troubleshooting equipment problems.
- Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred but NOT a must.
- Skill at Troubleshooting PLC systems is preferred.
