JOB SUMMARY: The IND Pasting Mixer is responsible for equipment set-up and changeovers. This position ensures operations and troubleshooting on mixing equipment to produce pasted plates for different battery types. The IND Pasting Mixer must ensure products produced meet all specifications and quality characteristics while machines are running within the set parameters.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES:

Responsible for:
- Understanding and following policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
- Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
- Responsible for day-to-day housekeeping of the surrounding production floor area.
- Produces properly pasted plates which are then cured and placed into an element to form a cell.
- Ability to follow all mix recipes to meet proper specifications for plate type.
- Ability to perform quality checks on the mixes (cube cup).
- Performs PM tasks (weekly / monthly) on equipment when instructed.
- Ability to run in Manual / Auto if problems arise.
- Responsible for helping the Pasting Operator in loading grids on the machine.
- Ability to fill in for Pasting Operator while quality checks are being done.
- Aware of all working activities and surroundings at all times to ensure operator safety.
- Responsible for machine set up, shut down, monitor and control machine operations and change or correct settings to keep operations within specifications.
- Be familiar and complaint with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown Quality objectives.

- Must be 18 years of age
- Experience with safety and environmental training
- Minimum 1 year manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management
- Familiar with inspection equipment, gauges, and measuring tools
- Ability to use some hand tools
- Ability to listen effectively and follow verbal and written instructions
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Bending, twisting, and turning. Full use of both hands to finger, handle, or fell objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk to hear. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds frequently and in excess of 140 pounds infrequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must follow OSHA guidelines on respirator fit testing and proper wear. Will wear goggles or face shield at all times while in department.
