JOB SUMMARY: Operates forklift in moving and handling material within the plant by following work instructions pertaining to the following areas.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proficient in Forklift Operator duties.
- Transport grids & pasted plates as needed.
- Transport raw materials, racks, skids and other materials to the line to ensure uninterrupted flow of production.
- Remove finished goods from the line to ensure uninterrupted flow of production.
- Respond whenever paged to an area as soon as possible.
- Moved finished goods, raw materials and WIP (Work In Progress) as directed by the supervisor.
- Comply with all plant Health Safety & Environmental rules.
- Maintains and organizes racks and shelves.
- Labels products with part number and date.
- Applies “move tickets” to required materials.
- Maintains move ticket boxes.
- Verifies packing slip for returned goods.
- Determines if returned goods go to stock or orders.
- Fill in or assist the SLI Receiving/Inventory Control Clerks when necessary.
- Trains new hires or transfers.
- Completes daily paperwork and recordkeeping.
- Transport scrap and hazardous waste containers to the Recycle Pad/Hazardous Waste Area.
- Transport empty scrap and hazardous waste containers to plant locations when paged.
- Enters scrap & hazardous waste data into logs daily.
- Labels hazardous waste and scrap containers.
- Familiar with Receiving/Inventory Control Clerk and Forklift Operators duties.
- Is responsible for:
- Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
- Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel
- Controlling nonconforming products
- Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
- Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Production Supervisor.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Forklift license
- Safety training
- Annual hazardous waste/scrap management training.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction)
- High School Diploma
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Lifting 25 to 75 lbs., frequent climbing off and on forklift.
