Position Title: Logistics Specialist (S3)

Role
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for performing administrative, clerical and support functions in a fast paced, high volume environment to ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely shipping, receiving, storage and retrieval of telecommunications equipment and components in support of the needs of the warehouse logistics operation. Position responsibilities may involve lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Completes driver check-in and out procedures as needed
- Directs facility’s outdoor transportation traffic flow for both inbound and outbound freight directions
- Monitors and manages performance to ensure that all logistics tasks are meeting customer service level requirements
- Prepares necessary domestic and export shipping documents; confirms orders in appropriate ERP (Oracle & JDE)
- Coordinates and expedites inventory flow with carriers by closely interfacing with Warehouse Supervisors, Warehouse Operators, Supply Chain personnel, and other transportation providers
- Analyzes and corrects shipping & receiving/recording discrepancies in appropriate ERP as required with emphasis on accurate accounting procedures
- Ability to contribute and partner with Strategic Sourcing and Analytics Performance Management Teams to develop contractual solutions for best cost to serve transportation options
- Performs other related duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager
- Schedules inbound deliveries and coordinates trailers requiring unloading to reduce detention costs
- Confirms receipts of all inbound materials and provides Material Planning and Logistics with collected data
- Tracks and reports weekly all inbound/outbound shipments and works with vendors and customers to reconcile any discrepancies, including overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D)
- Orders any shipping supplies to maintain efficient supply to keep the Warehouse Logistics Operation going
- Assists with periodic cycle counts and physical inventory (PI) counts
- Assists with researching and resolving inventory variances
- Performs other related duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager
Expectations
- Experience with inventory in the Telecommunications/ISP/Fiber Optic space
- Strong MS Office and data entry skills
- Previous experience with Vendor online portals
- Understanding of UPS/FedEx shipping software
- Oracle & JDE Inventory Management experience
- OSHA Fork Truck training and experience
- Must pass drug screening and background check
Education/Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent years of experience
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a team based/fast paced Distribution/Logistics environment preferred
- Previous experience in a warehouse and/or purchasing environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated competency in attention to detail, accuracy, work standards, initiative and managing work
- Must have strong communication skills

Working Conditions: Works in a normal warehouse setting and may be exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Travel may be required.
