What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early College Assistant position at Crown College?

DEFINITION: The Early College Assistant is responsible for enrolling and advising Early College students at Crown College. This position requires a detailed person with strong administrative, organizational, relational, and computer skills. The position, which is part of Crown’s Office of Online and Distributed Education, works under the direction of the Director of Early College.

EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
This is a hybrid remote/onsite position. The Early College Assistant needs to be able to come to campus when needed. Crown provides the required equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, personal computer and required programs, printer, calculator, copy machines, and other equipment as the position requires.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Remain current on all aspects of Crown admissions process, academic offerings, and academic policies
- Travel as needed for recruitment or registration
- Provide administrative support for the operation of Crown’s Early College program.
- Services Early College Students
- Recruitment for Early College admission
- Advising Early College students
- Serve as a contact for Early College students, parents, and school partners
- Process Early College paperwork
- Remain current on state requirements for Early College and the current course offerings which meet those requirements
- Assist with Orientations and Admissions events
- Help with events for Early College students
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Agreement with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
- Sharp attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of student information or other database systems, email programs, Microsoft Office products, and document imaging systems.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent professional judgments with integrity and within established guidelines.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

- Sit for extended periods of time.
- To have hand and arm (or equivalent) dexterity adequate to allow for extensive use of a keyboard for data entry.

- To have adequate vision to accommodate frequent viewing of computer screens.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college
- Ability to manage responsibilities and complete tasks with little supervision
- Well-organized and detailed-oriented with a positive attitude and ability to collaborate with other offices within the institution
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advising and/or Admissions Experience
- Understanding of homeschool requirements
