Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. Careers is proud to offer a unique opportunity for a skilled Machinist Specialist to join our team in the Crown Food Division.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools to produce high-quality tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and component parts to required print specifications.
This role involves performing a range of operations including turning, facing, threading, drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, milling, grinding, knurling, rolling, cutting, and other precision tasks on different materials to meet exacting tolerances.
You will also design, machine, troubleshoot, and assemble special tooling into production dies, and make repairs or alterations to end and can dies, including manufacturing replacement parts as needed.
To succeed in this role, you will need a thorough understanding of machine shop and tool room practices and techniques, properties of various materials, and principles of application and operation of various types of tools, jigs, fixtures, and dies.
We are looking for a highly skilled individual with at least 3-5 years of prior experience working with ferrous, non-ferrous, and non-metallic materials, cutting oils, grinding compounds, and other process materials.
Your qualifications should include proven competency in the use of micrometers, calipers, and related equipment, ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and parts specifications, and proven experience running precision equipment as well as equipment re-build.
