Closures, Aerosol & Promotional Packaging (CAPP) Division
The CAPP Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for the largest consumer packaging companies in North America. We offer total packaging solutions including:
- Closures: Decorative food and metal vacuum sealed closures, metal and composite closures, capping systems for glass and plastic container manufacturers.
- Aerosol Packaging: Cans and ends for manufacturers of personal care, food, household, and industrial products. We offer multiple sizes, color schemes and shaped packaging options.
- Promotional and Specialty Packaging: A wide array of decorative containers with numerous lid and closure variations.
Job Description
The Quality Assurance Inspector works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from raw material to finished product and supports daily production activities.
This fast-paced manufacturing facility produces over 15-18 million cans per month located in Spartanburg, SC.
The Quality Assurance Inspector reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and the Quality Assurance Supervisor. Key responsibilities include:
- PCR Documentation: Routine checks and frequency of checks conducted by Quality Inspectors and Mechanics as designated by the PCR.
- Visual Checks: Dents, scratches, videojet codes, and other visuals.
- Measurements: Various depth, height, width measurements on different parts of the can.
- Computerized Quality Check Tools: Conduct various measurements using computerized tools.
- Communication: Communicate pertinent information between management, coworkers, and shifts regarding equipment changes, production problems, or related information.
- JHA's, SOP's, Rules, and Housekeeping: Follow guidelines for safe work procedures and safety rules.
- Data Entry: Enter information into a computer to document data.
- Quality Checks and Record Keeping: Accurate and continuous quality checks and record keeping required.
- Safety Equipment: Ensure all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times.
- Incident Reporting: Notify supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions, poor-quality materials or supplies, and corrective action taken.
Requirements
- Previous Experience: Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment in a quality inspector role.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment; prior work experience in a manufacturing setting; knowledge and work history of focusing on safety and quality; proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks; effective communication with all levels of the plant and company management.
- Education: Basic computer and data entry skills using software and programs such as Excel, Word, Access, AS400, etc.
