Job Description
Operate and Maintain Aluminum Can Production Equipment
- Responsible for the efficient operation of one or more automated machines or equipment in aluminum can production.
- Ensure continuous production by maintaining smooth workflows and notifying supervisors of any mechanical failures.
- Perform accurate and continuous quality checks and recordkeeping.
- Conduct visual inspections of finished goods to ensure quality standards.
- Understand and execute verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks effectively.
- Maintain open communication with production supervisors/managers regarding equipment operational status and production issues.
- FOLLOW standard operating procedures while working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Operate the console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to transfer and stack cans onto finished pallets.
- Read production schedules and stacking patterns to determine the optimal layer arrangement of cans on pallets.
- Monitor conveyor belts for moving cans and detect defective products.
- Adjust the stacking arrangement of cans on pallets using the selector switch on the palletizer.
- Perform quality checks and document results.
- Inspect empty pallets and slip sheets for defects, debris, or foreign objects.
- Cease equipment operations to clear jams when necessary.
- May maintain records of production and equipment performance.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment through proper housekeeping practices.
- FOLLOW all required environmental, health, and safety procedures.
Requirements
Awareness of production equipment and mechanical operations in manufacturing environments is desirable.
Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably high-speed manufacturing. Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
Ability to read and understand procedures in English.
