What are the responsibilities and job description for the relief operator position at Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc.?
To provide operational assistance and relief to the Back End team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and operate flangers, beaders, light testers, spray machines, IBOs, and palletizers.
- Assist operators with can quality checks.
- Operate the palletizer, LSMs, and Back End equipment in the absence of other Back End Operators & Maintainers.
- Perform quality checks in the LSM area while the LSM Operator performs daily cleaning of LSM machines.
- Conduct visual checks of cans to ensure compliance with processes and take corrective action when deficiencies are found.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation, including process check sheets, logbooks, and maintenance check sheets.
- Provide support in other areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans through the plant.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all work areas and adhere to safety procedures and work practices.
- Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess strong mechanical skills.
- Able to read, understand, and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Familiarity with basic data entry and computer skills.
- Able to safely operate production forklifts and maintain certification.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations.
