GENERAL PURPOSE |
The Logistic Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the company’s continued success. This position requires a person to be dependable, focused on safety and requires a person to be flexible and cooperative. You must have all the skills of a CDL A Driver and possess the ability to mentor team members in the Logistics Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Assists the Logistics Supervisor ensuring that Safety is the #1 focus within the operation of the logistics department team.
- May be asked to assist with overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the logistics team.
- Make sure that the focus remains on Safety, Cost Control & Customer Service for the Logistics team.
- Complete driver duties as well, like driving local routes (Straight Truck & Tractor Trailer) as required to get the job done.
- Assists the Logistics Supervisor with the training of drivers on company policies & procedures and helps monitor compliance.
- Assist manager with ensuring that all trips are assigned and covered.
- Inspect the equipment to ensure that the Safety & mechanical items are in good working order.
- Always maintain a presence in the parking area and on the dock at the plant.
- Spot check the loading of straight trucks/trailers to ensure DVRs are being done correctly.
- Work with the Logistics Supervisor to coordinate services & repairs to the equipment.
- Assist with auditing/spot checking the equipment after it has been used to ensure that there is fuel, it’s kept clean & has no damages.
- Ensure that the loading docks are safe, clean, and organized.
- Operates a company-owned delivery vehicle on established or alternate routes as scheduled.
- Performs pre-trip/post-trip daily.
- Provides reports about any maintenance issues related to the delivery vehicle or any other concerns.
- Must be punctual and stringent about timings and make no delays in deliveries.
- Must be prepared to work in any traffic pattern, severe weather, and strict deadlines according to our business needs.
- Will always provide professional and courteous service to our customers and their staff.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Must always be in full uniform provided by the company.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS |

- One (1) year of Supervisory experience overseeing a staff of drivers
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Class A driver’s license for at least 2 years, clean MVR & a current DOT medical card
- Must pass a criminal background check, a drug screen testing for pre-employment and random programs.
- Able to accept alternative plant assignments, willing to travel and attend training seminars, if required
- Knowledge of all DOT Regulations
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to work independently, be responsible for route, and work unsupervised 90% of the time
- Must have a clear understanding of the importance of meeting deadlines and commitments
- Must be able to perform basic math skills to i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
