TITLE: Facilities Technician - Troy, 1st Shift
OVERALL OBJECTIVE: Provide support to the management and supervisory teams to ensure aspects of a project or task are duly attended to and completed at the right time, despite any setbacks encountered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Follow all Crown Packaging safety and health rules and regulations
- Wear or use required protective equipment while working
- Report hazardous conditions to the employer
- Report any job-related injury or illness to the supervisor or manager and seek treatment promptly
- Carry out all work assignments in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility
- Maintain all 5S requirements
- Maintain production or wood shop equipment as needed
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment
- Maintain inventory of supplies and submit order requests to purchase
- Follow all preventive maintenance procedures and work instructions
- Provide backup for moving materials by using a forklift and other equipment
- Ability to maintain and repair packaging or wood shop equipment. (Example: Tape Guns, Tape Machines, Sheeters, Minor Auto Bagger and Sprint repair, Conveyors, panel saw, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to sit, walk, and move around for long hours at a time
- Must be able to stand 8-10 hours a day constantly, and the ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing (ladder)
- Must be trained in Lock Out / Tag Out prior to performing PM tasks
- Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions and safety guidelines
- Ability to follow and give directions
- Ability to operate, diagnose, and repair equipment/machinery in a safe manner
- Ability to interact with a variety of individuals successfully and clearly
- Ability to communicate verbally in a clear, concise manner with vendors concerning equipment issues
- Must be knowledgeable of all safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math
