What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Delivery Shuttle Driver position at Crown Power & Equipment Co., LLC?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Parts Delivery Shuttle Driver is responsible for delivering parts, small equipment, and other supplies to one or more of our current 11 locations in Missouri. This newly created position will allow our Company to streamline transporting of parts, equipment, supplies etc. in a faster and trackable manner. The perfect candidate will be someone that enjoys traveling throughout the state of Missouri and working closely with our parts departments at each location to deliver goods timely with a positive disposition This position will work four 10-hour days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and is classified as a full-time position eligible for all employee benefits, or can be divided between two part-time employees, depending on the candidate's schedule.
Requirements:
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
- Transport agricultural/construction parts, small equipment, supplies, and paperwork between 11 branch locations
- Follows all DOT regulations and guidelines to ensure all traffic laws are followed at all times
- Load parts shuttle van in a safe manner, securing all items while complying with all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain route timeline to keep consistency of delivery and pick up times
- Keep base parts department up-to-date on delivery schedule and/or delivery delays
- Checks with parts personnel before leaving each branch location to coordinate any last-minute pick-ups or deliveries
- Keeps all parts, equipment, supplies etc. organized and properly marked on the shuttle for a secure and efficient delivery
- Help with base location parts department when not out on a delivery route by stocking parts, conducting inventories, and helping to maintain the clean and professional appearance of the parts department
- Maintain cleanliness and operability of the delivery shuttle van
- Complete vehicle safety checks per company policy and operates the vehicle within the safety guidelines
- Handle basic maintenance of the shuttle van including filling the tank with fuel, checking oil, and making sure required inspections are performed
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the shuttle van promptly
- Obtain receipts for shuttle van expenses and submit to base location parts manager for processing
- Maintain driver logs according to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform/company apparel while on the job
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- A valid Class E Driver’s License
- 2 or more years of related work experience
- Safety-minded work habits
- Clean driving record
- Courteous demeanor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines efficiently and cost effectively
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, pulling, leaning, and twisting
- Ability to lift items up to 75 lbs. on a daily basis (anything over 75 lbs. will require the use of appropriate equipment or store personnel)
- Capability to properly secure cargo being transported per DOT requirements
- Fitness to work in adverse and extreme weather conditions
- Ability to drive a vehicle for up to 10 hours per day
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience hauling agricultural/construction parts and equipment
- Candidate is required to successfully pass the pre-employment screenings which includes background check, pre-employment drug testing as well as driving record evaluation
