Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our residential construction material warehouse where we primarily transport fiber cement siding and lumber. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising warehouse staff, supervising delivery routes, ensuring efficient logistics processes, overseeing the loading process of delivery trucks, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and accompanying delivery drivers on material runs. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of warehouse systems, and the ability to implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Manage and train warehouse staff to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems for efficient tracking of inventory and shipments.
- Oversee logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery of products while optimizing routes and processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
- Facilitate process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage orders with Forklift or Moffett truck as needed. Forklift Certification required.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring proper techniques are followed to maintain safety.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and resolve any logistical challenges.
- Help deliver materials to our various residential job sites around the state.
Experience
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory role or similar position is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and logistics operations.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, as well as inventory control methods.
- Experience in team management with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues within the warehouse environment.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety in a warehouse setting.
- License is required.
- DOT Medical card is preferred.
