Our client is a global manufacturer of food packaging products and solutions. They are looking for a Safety Specialist for their Chicago facility.
This is a 3 month contract position.
Hours are 8 : 30am-5pm but can be somewhat flexible with some overtime possible during evenings and weekends.
Pay will be based on experience and will range $24-$25 / hour
The responsibilities of the Safety Specialist will include but are not limited to :
- Engage and work with employees, supervisors, and department managers, to maintain and continuously improve the company’s Environmental Health and Safety program.
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially at-risk conditions, processes, or materials.
- Participate in thorough investigations for all incidents and accidents on site and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
- Lead the team in developing effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Assist in the implementation of safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies as well as all local, state, and federal regulations and requirements.
- Partner with the EHS Manager to review, update, and develop written programs, policies, and procedures for safety adherence.
- Conduct weekly Safety Assessments.
- Enter safety work orders.
- Assist the EHS Manager with providing training and coaching.
- Support the EHS Manager with additional duties as required.
