Job Description
Position Overview:
Works under the direction of project engineers and lab supervisors who establish the general processes and
priorities. Performs assigned duties independently. Applies critical thinking and analysis to solve practical
problems. Supports global division – interacts with engineering and product management personnel from
all regions. Support for soldering, connector prototype preparation, documentation, and continuity testing.
Perform functional tests and signal integrity evaluations. Provide feedback to engineering on functional
and quality issues encountered and make suggestions for
improvement.
Essential Functions:
Perform soldering or de-soldering operation including in microscopic scale to assemble or remove
resistors, capacitors, and wires on board, and connectors for electrical testing.
Perform Signal Integrity measurements on high-speed connectors using network analyzers.
Perform time domain reflectometry measurements and oscilloscope measurements.
Perform BER, SNR and Eye measurements on high-speed data signals.
Create reports from measurement data using Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and in
house software.
Highlight areas of failure in any prototype and provide possible reasons for malfunctions.
Organize lab and maintain archive of reports in on-line library.
Support Molex quality programs by following approved policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
experience in using hand tools, electrical equipment, or doing similar job function with hands-on
lab experience.
Intermediate level computer skills, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in a technical field
Education or experiences focused on electrical or mechanical technology.
Skills and Abilities:
Quick to learn technical technique.
Organized with Great attention to detail.
Soldering skills
Microscopic operation abilities for our prototyping needs in our high-speed connectors product
lines.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team.
Good time management skills to be able to keep yourself on tasks.
Good written and verbal skills for clear and concise communication
Proven problem-solving skills.
Can handle multiple projects simultaneously and respond to competing priority demands.
