What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Crown Staffing?
Crown Staffing is currently seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians to fill openings with a local Manufacturing company in McCalla, AL.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Reports to the Maintenance Manager and/or Engineering Manager as needed.
2nd shift available (5:30 PM-4:30 AM), Monday-Friday, and weekends as needed
Functions/Tasks:
- Perform planned and unscheduled maintenance tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or called for by Line Leaders.
- Retrieve P.M’s and W.O’s for production lines. Employee should start with safety issues, production needs, and then the preventative maintenance issues beginning with the oldest first.
- Keep work areas cleaned and organized on a daily basis.
- Repair items on production lines without causing lost production.
- Maintenance should instigate scheduled work orders for all lines.
- Perform duties in safe manner following all known safety practices.
- Complete items posted on the maintenance office board which are considered to be scheduled jobs.
- Utilize technical support and information (Maintenance Manuals, Prints, etc.) to minimize equipment downtime.
- Document all work performed during the shift.
- Complete work orders and PM orders filling in needed information and turning them into the Supervisor.
- Report all parts used and any low inventory items to Supervisor.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Education / Experience / Skills:
- 3 years Automotive Industry experience required.
- Strong organization skills.
- PLC, Robotics, Hydraulics, Pneumatic and Electrical experience required.
- Ladder Logic experience is preferred.
- Microsoft Office proficiency required.
