Description
Job Summary:
The Turret Punch Press Operator 1 is responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC punch press machines used to fabricate metal parts for our manufacturing projects. This position will be assigned to the 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday 3:30PM-12:15AM) plus $1.00/hour Shift Differential.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates a punch press machine to manufacture parts from sheet metal or metal plates.
- Prepares, sets up, and adjusts punch press machine as required by product plans and production schedules.
- Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available to fulfill work orders
- Measures and aligns materials to be used
- Inspects products and evaluates finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Performs routine maintenance on the punch press machine
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate turret punch press controls.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans including blueprints and drawings.
- Strong attention to detail skills
- Basic computer and math skills
Experience/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating a CNC punch press machine
- At least one year of experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to operate the punch press machine
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor
Salary : $21 - $24
