Description : Job Summary :

The Turret Punch Press Operator 1 is responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC punch press machines used to fabricate metal parts for our manufacturing projects. This position will be assigned to the 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday 3 : 30PM-12 : 15AM) plus $1.00 / hour Shift Differential.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

None.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Operates a punch press machine to manufacture parts from sheet metal or metal plates.
  • Prepares, sets up, and adjusts punch press machine as required by product plans and production schedules.
  • Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available to fulfill work orders
  • Measures and aligns materials to be used
  • Inspects products and evaluates finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Performs routine maintenance on the punch press machine
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements :

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

  • Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate turret punch press controls.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans including blueprints and drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail skills
  • Basic computer and math skills

    • Experience / Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience operating a CNC punch press machine
  • At least one year of experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Physically able to operate the punch press machine
  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
  • Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor
