Job Summary:
The Sr. Facilities Manager will oversee all aspects of building functions and ensures the safety and functionality of the facility. This role will be responsible for supervising the maintenance staff, running routine safety inspections, corresponding with vendors, planning maintenance work, and maintaining records. The Sr. Facilities Manager plays a key role in optimizing overall facility performance and minimizing equipment downtime.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains staff in the maintenance and facilities department.
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Participates in all leadership activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures assigned facilities and equipment are ready for regular business.
- Minimize cost of downtime of equipment while maximizing production run time.
- Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
- Oversees and executes a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Ensures timely and effective repairs and upgrades to machinery and facility infrastructure.
- Maintains the inventory, storage, and distribution of related equipment.
- Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment.
- Arranges service by vendors to repair or replace defective products.
- Analyze maintenance costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage the department's budget effectively.
- Ensures sanitation team follows schedules and protocols to meet hygiene standards in compliance with industry regulations.
- Inspects and performs maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities, as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of maintenance best practices.
- Technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and other building systems.
- Advanced mechanical and analytical skills to diagnose complex mechanical issues.
- Understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained (example: punch presses, press brakes, forklifts, etc.).
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to maintain records and warranties.
- Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.
- Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric minded.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for facility maintenance and sanitation, including OSHA.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
Experience/Education:
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Previous experience managing teams in facilities maintenance and sanitation required.
- Experience managing a production facility and familiarity of equipment, including Press Brakes, Punch Presses, Cranes, Forklifts, etc.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as moving around all parts of the manufacturing facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
- Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
