Title: Fleet Manager
Position Summary:
- The Fleet Maintenance Manager builds, oversees, and maintains an effective fleet management program that prolongs the life of the department, ensures safe operations of all equipment, and completes repairs in a timely manner. Primary duties include but are not limited to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired when necessary, and involved in the hiring and training of new employees to join our team.
- The Fleet Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in the company's success and must have strong leadership skills and an understanding of how to effectively manage people and resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, schedule, and audit vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical, and electrical repair to equipment, trucks, and trailers.
- Prioritize and assign work to meet the needs of the company and it’s customers.
- Ensures quality, compliance, and safety of company’s assets.
- Control repair, inventory, and labor costs.
- Estimating costs for repairs, consulting with management regarding budget limits, and approving repair orders.
- Coach and mentor technicians and mechanics.
- Monitor the work levels of direct reports and team members.
- Manage facilities, assuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Place orders for required parts, materials, and supplies, as required.
- Monitors and prioritizes projects, activities, and assignments to ensure the completion of deadlines.
- Responsible for obtaining and renewing licensing and registration.
- Assists with DOT Compliance, working alongside HR and Safety to ensure compliance.
- Occasionally reports to active work sites as needed or required.

Qualifications required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; associates or tech school degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of fleet maintenance management experience or at least 3 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics.
- Class A CDL Driver License
- Extensive knowledge of Various Diagnostic Equipment.
- Experience in the UG Utility/Telecom Industry.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Formal technical training and certification preferred.
- Ability to understand budgeting and cost management.
Working Conditions / Environment: This position operates in an office and shop environment.
This position routinely operates in various physical positions, such as sitting, standing, walking, driving, and squatting. This position requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer, and fall weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated. When working onsite, it will be required to wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety vest.
