Expectations :

We are looking for a motivated individual who has a steady work history. We need an experienced operator for our new Amada Ventis 6KW laser. This laser includes the latest in Amadas laser cutting technology and includes Amadas AMS3015 Loader and Tower System and Amadas TK3015L Precision High Speed Automated Part Take Out System. This highly automated system reduces material handling requirements with operator safety and ergonomics in mind. Successful candidates will be trained in Amadas laser cutting software, tower and part picking automation and will be required to monitor and manage the laser cutting cells functions. To be successful as a Laser Operator, you should have prior experience performing computer and mechanical machine set-ups and troubleshooting while also running production jobs. You will also be able to use various measurement devices including calipers, tape measures, etc. During a typical shift, this position regularly performs heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and will be required to stand on concrete floors for extended periods of time.

Job Description :

• Set-up and operate the Amada Ventis 6KW laser, AMS3015 Loader and Tower System and Amadas TK3015L Precision High Speed Automated Part Take Out System.
• Load raw materials into tower system.
• Monitor raw material levels and support a Kan Ban system for stock levels with purchasing.
• Work to a daily schedule and load various cutting programs for the production parts required.
• Co-ordinate material handling to the forming cells.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of finished products.
• Perform spot inspections of parts.
• Conduct daily inspections to verify all parts meet blueprint specifications and quality tolerance and are usable for next operations and perform necessary rework and minor repairs on non-confirming parts.
• Must ensure that established production, set-up, and quality standards are met.
• Must keep accurate counts of production parts run through machinery and accurately report on appropriate paperwork.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to achieve desired results.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain clean work area.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Perform and / or assist with preventative, minor, and major maintenance functions on production machinery.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
• Assist in the training of other fabrication staff to create a cross functional operation of all fabrication equipment including the robotic laser welding and the laser cutting cells. Training will include how to safely operate machinery meeting established production, set-up and quality standards.
• Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures and is accountable for the health and safety of employees under his supervision by; making sure that employees work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures and providing adequate training for employees in specific work tasks to help reduce or eliminate the risk of workplace injuries.
