Expectations :
We are looking for a motivated individual who has a steady work history with various welding techniques but specifically laser welding. We need experienced welders to operate our new robotic and handheld laser welders. The Amada FLW 3000 ENSIS Robotic Fiber Laser Welder is Amadas latest technology in laser welding and will be used to weld many of our products. The IPG handheld laser welding system will be used to weld smaller components with lower production requirements. Both laser systems come with the latest in software and safety technologies. Successful candidates will be trained in Amadas Laser Welding software and will be required to monitor and manage the robotic welding cells functions. We expect successful candidates to be able to operate both the robotic and handheld laser systems. To be successful as a Welder, you should have prior experience interpreting blueprints and reading tape measures. During a regular shift this position regularly performs heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and is required to stand on concrete floors for extended periods of time.
Job Description :
- Set-up fixtures for various component assemblies and operate the Amada FLW robotic welder.
- Set-up fixtures for various component assemblies and operate the IPG handheld laser welder.
- Work to a daily schedule and load various welding programs for the production parts required.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Align components using fixtures and clamping devices.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of finished products.
- Perform spot inspections of parts.
- Conduct daily inspections to verify all parts meet blueprint specifications and quality tolerance and are usable for next operations and perform necessary rework and minor repairs on non-confirming parts.
- Must ensure that established production, set-up, and quality standards are met.
- Must keep accurate counts of production parts run through machinery and accurately report on appropriate paperwork.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain clean work area.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Perform and / or assist with preventative, minor, and major maintenance functions on production machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
- Assist in the training of other fabrication staff to create a cross functional operation of all fabrication equipment including the robotic laser welding and the laser cutting cells. Training will include how to safely operate machinery meeting established production, set-up and quality standards.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures and is accountable for the health and safety of employees under his supervision by; making sure that employees work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures and providing adequate training for employees in specific work tasks to help reduce or eliminate the risk of workplace injuries.
