Fence Installer

Job Title: Fence Installer - Warranty Pay Rate: $16.50/HRSchedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Hours May Vary)Location: San Antonio, TX Purpose: Responsible in assisting in all aspects of installation and repair of wood and chain link fences, gates, etc. assigned.Essential Skills: (may include but are not limited to the ability to)• Ability to multi-task• Self-motivated, able to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-daydecision-making• Punctual and reliable in work and attendance Primary Duties and Responsibilities:• Verify oil and water levels on vehicle daily.• Report any needed repairs and problems to your supervisor.• Always verify license plate and state inspection sticker expiration dates. Report to your supervisor a month before any stickers expire.• Keep truck clean on the exterior and interior, inspect daily for damage, etc.• Verify job cards from previous day and review yours and your helper’s time cards to make sure they are filled out correctly.• Go over job cards and map out a schedule for your day.• Load all materials and tools you will need for that day jobs.• Check in with your supervisor by cell phone each day before leaving each job site.• Document all time and materials used by you and your helper on the back of each job card.• Be prepared to change your schedule at any time due to last minute jobs, special projects, emergency repairs, etc.• Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications:• Map reading skills• Ability to use tape measure• Knowledge of pneumatic tools and skill saws• Ability to measure in linear feet and square feet• Ability to layout jobs using plot plans• A current and valid driver’s license• Clean driving historyPhysical Requirements:• Able to work in adverse conditions including heat and cold.• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently.• Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch• Climb stairs• Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects• Physical stamina to carry out all daily chores required to fulfill job responsibilities Personal Protective Equipment:• Safety glasses• Gloves• Back Brace• Steel toe boots Environment: Most work is conducted in field construction performed outside so exposure to all types of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, is common. Chain of Command:You will always answer to your direct Supervisor, the Fence Department Manager and the President and go to them if you have any problems or questions. If you have a problem with your direct supervisors, or they are not available, you should go to Human Resources.
