Maintenance Tech Supervisor

We're looking a Full Time Maintenance Technician Supervisor to join our team at the Crowne Plaza Lansing. Primarily working day shift. The Maintenance Technician Supervisor will plan, assist and oversee daily maintenance tasks while leading our amazing maintenance staff ensuring the hotel's facilities are in good working condition. Paying $19 /hr depending on qualifications & experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist with day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members.
• Educate and train all team members on safety methods, procedures and techniques. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
• Perform day-to-day calls for guestroom work orders and requests from Quore and communicate status to appropriate department.
• Respond to guest’s maintenance needs promptly and ensure guests receive professional, efficient prompt, and courteous service to hotel standards
• Carry out daily, weekly, monthly and annual preventive maintenance program to ensure facility is maintained and in service for our guests.
• Complete all IHG Way of Preventative Maintenance checklists daily and weekly.
• Monitor and control supplies and equipment; and inform management of needs for the department
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.
• Take responsibility for the cleanliness and safety aspects of all plant and mechanical equipment rooms.
• Attend and participate in hotel meetings as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific job knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Ability to read, speak, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Basic computational abilities such as basic addition, subtractions, and division of numbers.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, terminology, equipment, and tools used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems including those used in performing rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical, and painting work.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules.
• Ability to perform complex maintenance duties and operate related equipment.
• Ability to operate office equipment and applicable software applications.

Physical demands:

• Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
• Must be able to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
• Must be able to position self to operate, maintain, and repair equipment.
• Occasional repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to climb to unusual heights on ladders to; lift, carry, maneuver moderate to heavy amounts of weight, and to operate assigned equipment and vehicles.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis and frequently maneuver equipment weighing up to 250 pounds.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 2 years of facilities maintenance experience required and 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
• Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the Hotel’s facilities. Associates who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subjects to disciplinary action, up to and including, separation.
