Job Overview
The Banquet Set-up Supervisor will support the department to ensure all banquet order set-up requests are completed effectively. Responsible for the oversight and execution of room sets for various functions, adding or removing banquet equipment throughout the day, and working with the banquet team to ensure a positive guest experience during their stay.
Job Responsibilities
· Support the vision, mission, and service standards of the Crowne Plaza Hotel by providing positive, consistent service that exceeds guest expectations
· Organize, supervise, and assist in the set-up and breakdown of rooms for both meetings and food functions.
· Check function rooms to ensure that all set-ups are in accordance with the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
· Inspect meeting rooms; check for cleanliness, neatness, and agreement with the group requirements and departmental standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.
· Anticipate guests’ needs and respond with a sense of urgency.
· Document daily set-up requirements according to departmental procedures and attach or prepare respective diagrams as needed
· Ensure the security and proper storage for all Banquet Set-up equipment, including, but not limited to, tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, and podiums.
· Establish par levels for supplies and equipment, completing requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business.
· Ensure hotel policies & procedures are followed by all associates
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in banquet set-up at a major property
- Basic knowledge of all health and safety regulations
- Basic knowledge of food service and banquet equipment requirements
- Must have a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to bend, push, pull, lift, and stand for up to 8-hours
- Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Excellent leadership abilities and the ability to manage several associates at one time
- Can make connections with people, motivating and inspiring them to achieve results
- Demonstrate strong initiative and self-direction
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment
- Perform job functions with minimal supervision
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- The ability to provide an excellent guest experience, even in stressful situations
