Kitchen Steward (Full-Time)

Responsibilities

Washes and stores properly all dishes, trays, eating utensils, cups and small equipment for the department. One will maintain the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner. Support the Crowne Plaza hallmarks and standards. Washes and stores in proper places all dishes, trays, utensils, cups and small equipment for the department. Responsible for setting up and breaking down banquet functions (buffets and receptions). Responsible for taking out trash, sweeping and mopping floors. Aid cooks and chefs in plating up food and running food for buffets. Checks machine to be sure it is operating correctly and reports any defects immediately. Cleans and keeps neat dish room area including detergent storage are and belt line from the dining area. Responsible for washing pots and pans by hand. All other duties as required.
Qualifications

HS Diploma or equivalent preferred. One should have 0 to 2 years experience in area of responsibility. Have the ability to learn and take direction. Demonstrate correct understanding of routine aspects of work. Ability to produce high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines, and procedures. Possess patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. One must be able to work at a steady, even pace to promote accuracy and quality of work. One must be able to maintain a consistent work pace for long periods despite interruptions. Have the ability to follow instructions carefully and exactly. Have the ability to multitask. One should be able to observe correct procedure and pattern that behavior. Must be available weekends and holidays. One must be subject to wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noises. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen.
