Job Summary:
A Pool Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of swimming pools, spas, and associated facilities. This includes regular cleaning, chemical balancing, equipment inspection, and repairs. The role ensures that all safety standards and health regulations are met to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Skim, vacuum, and brush pools and spas to remove debris and maintain water clarity.
- Clean and maintain pool decks, tiles, and surrounding areas.
- Chemical Testing and Balancing:
- Test water quality and add chemicals as needed to maintain proper pH and chlorine levels.
- Document chemical usage and water test results.
- Equipment Inspection and Repair:
- Inspect and maintain pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and chlorinators.
- Perform minor repairs and report major repairs to the supervisor.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local health regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and chemical usage.
- Monitor pool area for safety hazards and address issues promptly.
- Customer Service:
- Respond to customer inquiries and concerns regarding pool facilities.
- Provide excellent customer service to pool users and residents.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory of pool chemicals and supplies.
- Order necessary supplies and parts in a timely manner.
- Other Duties:
- Assist with opening and closing of pools for the season.
- Participate in training and development programs as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in pool maintenance or a related field.
- Knowledge of pool equipment and chemical handling.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Work Environment:
- Primarily outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to pool chemicals and cleaning agents.
- May require weekend and holiday work depending on the facility’s schedule
