Job Title : Group Facilitator

Department : Clinical

Operating Unit : PHP, IOP & OP

Reports To : Clinical Director / Supervisor

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Full-time

Tentative Schedule : Mon-Friday 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm In Person

Hourly Wage : $22.00-$25.00 / hour DOE

Start Date : TBD

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of CCI & CPI is to offer the highest quality and professional, Partial Hospital Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Outpatient services. We are committed to treating patients and their families with the highest regard and respect as clients work toward reaching the highest growth potential in their recovery process. This is accomplished through the strict adherence to the highest ethical standards of care and policies and procedures set forth by the California Department of State of Health Services and the Joint Commission.

  • CCI & CPI ensures all clients are treated with compassion, respect, and dignity regardless of race, creed, age, sex, handicaps, or sexual orientation
  • CCI & CPI employees are competent and responsible personnel who adhere to a strict code of professional ethics which include but are not limited to the prohibition of fraternization with patients, exploitation of clients, or any criminal behaviors
  • CCI & CPI provides clients with accurate and complete information regarding the available services including the program rules, regulations, goals and objectives of the program
  • Appropriate availability of alternative treatment modalities is made at any time before, during or after treatment if they are requested or the client's needs are out of the scope of our practice
  • CCI & CPI will ensure that discharge from treatment is conducted in accordance with California mle standards
  • CCI & CPI provides both California and Joint Commission environment of care standards
  • CCI & CPI will take all necessary and appropriate measures to maintain individual client records and information in a confidential and professional manner
  • CCI & CPI strives to maintain positive relations with the surrounding community and pursues every reasonable action to encourage responsible client behaviors and community safety

SUMMARY

The Group Facilitator at CCI / CPI plays a crucial role in leading sessions on mental health, wellness, addiction education, relapse prevention, and other relevant topics within their scope of practice, under the guidance of the Clinical Director / Supervisor. In addition to managing a weekly group, the facilitator collaborates with clients to explore self-discovery and empowerment themes in a supportive environment that fosters social connections, aiding members in enhancing their mental well-being and achieving personal objectives.

AGE / CLIENT POPULATION(S) SERVED

Age of Client Population Served : Adult (18 & older)

Population Served : Persons meeting DSM5 criteria for substance use disorders with or without co-occurring psychiatric illness, and psychiatric illness with or without substance use disorders.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a safe space for the expression of anxieties and exploration and sharing of experience
  • Demonstrate appropriate communication and leadership skills
  • Promote a consensus-building approach where every member has a say in the structure of the group
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual needs of the client members.
  • Develop and support the activities of the Group
  • Maintain the Health and Safety of the group ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Support the client members to develop their own mutual support network outside of the group if they wish to do so
  • Encourage members to get involved in new hobbies and activities to improve their mental health
  • Promote the rights, responsibilities, and recovery of client members
  • Provide I-I support to members as necessary
  • Complete all necessary paperwork (daily group notes within 24 hours)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Education, Training, and Experience Required :

  • CADC, CAADE or Equivalent AODS Certification recognized by DHCS or Registered or Licensed Counselor or Therapist
  • One (l) year experience working in a program serving persons with Substance use and / or mental disabilities
  • Attainment of at least 1 8 years of age
  • A Health Screening with negative TB Test Results
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification First Aid
  • Current CPR certification
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Proficient with individual and group counseling on chemical dependency issues
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Possess excellent rapport-building skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical / computer skills
  • Time management
  • Knowledge of industry standards as related to the position
  • Basic knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
  • Written and oral communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic
  • Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations such as when verbally or physically confronted in an aggressive manner
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands
  • Must possess a reading and writing level that provides for clear expression and / or understanding of assignments related to job description
  • Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the facility

  • Completes incident reports

  • Responds correctly to codes and drills
  • Maintains refrigeration temperature log
  • Utilizes supplies in a cost-effective manner
  • Maintains equipment in proper working order and follows correct procedures in equipment use
  • PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean
  • Completes annual education requirements
  • Maintains regulatory requirements
  • Maintains client confidentiality always
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
  • Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion
  • Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
  • Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the program
  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge of expected adult vital signs
  • Recognizes abuse / neglect potential
  • Encourages family support
  • Recognizes / respects concerns over interruption of work / plans / separation from family, etc.
  • Recognizes fears regarding potential lifestyle changes
  • Encourages verbalization of fears and anxiety; maintains age-appropriate communication
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS :

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. The job requires frequent contact with water (hand washing and cleaning) and working with body fluid and hazardous chemicals. When under these working conditions, OSHA standards and universal precautions must be followed always. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal to high volumes of stress.
