The Systems Administrator will work as part of a small team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment supporting Crowther Roofing and Cooling in Fort Myers, Sarasota, and other locations. Looking for a super-sharp, fast learner who has a strong interest in Systems, Networking, and Desktop support. Must have experience working supporting IT applications; deployment and maintenance of end-user devices and other business technologies, while meeting the timeline needs of the business. This position is based primarily in Fort Myers.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of IT at Crowther Roofing and Cooling, this position manages critical systems, networking and security infrastructure including but not limited to:
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer hardware, operating systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure using Confluence.
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
- Administer and maintain end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Installation, Configuration, and Monitoring of networking equipment (Cisco and Meraki) and cabling.
- Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Manage network services (I.E. DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, NTP)
- Provide level II desktop support and assist with day-to-day support needs as needed.
- Manage data backup/recovery using Veeam and Barracuda
- Ability to interact effectively with other departments
- Ability to conduct small projects and deployments without direct supervision.
- Ability to conduct business and provide Customer Service in a professional manner.
- Respond to after-hours requests and escalate when needed
- Troubleshoot issues and outages in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and skills
- BS/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of experience with Cisco Networking Equipment, Meraki experience a plus
- 3-5 years of network administration, or system administration experience particularly with Microsoft Windows Server.
- Knowledge in Active Directory design and administration and support of infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server
- Strong knowledge of security best practices
- Experience with Microsoft Azure a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Must work onsite at multiple geographic locations within Florida
Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, and be "on-call" after hours, on demand
