Clinical Coordinator - Maternal Child Health

Position Summary:

The coordinator will work under the direction of the Clinical Director to optimize the patient’s experience of care by supporting service line goals and objectives set forth by management.  The coordinator will also support each discipline in the necessary knowledge and training that is required to support this specialized patient population.  This population encompasses care of the antepartum and intrapartum patient during the labor process and/or cesarean section, care of the mom and newborn couplet after delivery, as well as neonates.

Member of inter-disciplinary team to evaluate care delivery and clinical services for labor and delivery, obstetrics and the intensive care nursery to meet clinical and quality objectives alongside the Clinical Director.

In conjunction with the Clinical Director,

• Effectively incorporates patient care requirements into the development of unit-based orientation processes and on-boarding plans.
• Implements systems to manage and improve the performance of unit level processes and to improve the performance, consistency and coordination of cross functional processes.
• Collaborates with inter-disciplinary team to support, evaluate and educate best practice and known professional standards of care (S.T.A.B.L.E., OBERT, NRP, etc.)
• Collaborates, plans and facilitates unit-based education to maintain and enhance the clinical competency of the nursing staff.  Works to enhance department-specific competency and expertise… such as patient specific assessments, breastfeeding/lactation, fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, bereavement training, scrubbing, and potential cross-training between units.

Education and Training:  

Current licensure to practice Professional Nursing in the Commonwealth of

Pennsylvania

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Master's Degree preferred

Experience and Knowledge:

3 years relevant clinical experience in Labor and Delivery

Management experience preferred

Registration, Licensure and/or Certification:  

BLS, ACLS, NRP preferred
