What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Informaticist - Full Time position at Crozer Health?
The Pharmacy Informaticist provides project and maintenance support for pharmacy system applications: Cerner implementation, Pyxis Medstation, Pyxis Connect, BBraun smart pumps install and updates. Other pharmacy information systems related duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary pharmacy department resource, system wide, for the content of pharmacy based IT applications
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with all CKHS pharmacy site managers, other pharmacy department managers/directors, and pharmacy data analysts. Ensures that pharmacy applications support department’s compliance with patient safety standards
- Communicates regularly with and provides support to other departments that impact the pharmacy IT applications (either upstream or downstream): central IT department, laboratory/chemistry departments, nursing, medical staff, or others as assigned. If assigned, attends interdisciplinary meetings relating to IT/electronic patient care applications that are impacted by pharmacy IT applications.
- Serves as primary coordinator and support person for all pharmacy IT project implementations including but not limited to upgrades, functionality changes, patches, applying service packs, database conversions. Serves as a liaison between national PMH Cerner infrastructure and the CKHS Team
- Monitors all pharmacy applications on a daily basis. Troubleshoots software or application issues in a timely fashion. Escalates any issues relating to pharmacy IT software/application to pharmacy assistant director, appropriate vendor or support personnel. Follows-up with front line staff and provides timeline for resolution of software/application issue.
Requirements:
- PA licensed pharmacist required.
- Bachelor degree in pharmacy or PharmD required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience Inpatient Pharmacy Practice
- Pharmacy/Clinical Systems experience preferred: Siemens Pharmacy, Pyxis
