What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Transporter (Per-Diem) position at Crozer Keystone Health System?
Position Summary :
To safely transport patients throughout the Medical Center.
Performs duties in support of the Medical Center mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.
- Transports patients by stretcher and wheelchair between their rooms and other service areas of the Medical Center.
- Assists nursing personnel to prepare patients for transport, including moving and positioning patients.
- Inspects stretchers and wheelchairs for readiness and cleanliness before and after each patient transport.
- Surface cleans, and lubricates as necessary, patient transport equipment.
- Participates in the training of new personnel.
- Confers with nursing personnel, when needed, concerning requests for patient transport and / or patient transport equipment.
