As a staffing scheduling coordinator, you will maintain daily staffing records for Nursing Services system wide and to assist nursing management personnel in the allocation of employees to meet identified patient care needs in an economically sound and efficient manner.
Responsibilities :
- Maintains Active Staffer Schedules of all employees in nursing services system wide
- Handles phone calls from nursing services staff in regards to requests, callouts, lateness and makes the necessary notations on the rosters / schedules
- Staffs nursing departments according to pre-approved staffing templates / matrixes
- Works in conjunction with Nurse Managers and Nurse Supervisors on equitable distribution of nursing care hours to ensure both productivity and patient care needs are met
- Maintains a thorough understanding of all policies and union contracts and regulations as they relate to Staffing Office functions
- Ensures staffing needs are sent to SSS / Pool by requested deadlines
- Ensures equitable distribution of cancellation and low census as it pertains to the union contracts
- Works to ensure appropriate utilization of staff to reduce OT and agency utilization
- Maintains communication with Bedflow Coordinator and Nursing Supervisor regarding census and impact to staffing
- Seeks replacement personnel in conjunction with Nurse Managers and Nurse Supervisors ensuring that replacement solutions are cost efficient.
