Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a qualified Production Planner Scheduler/ Controller to organize production according to demand and quality standards. You will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner. An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills.
· Maintain the production schedule and other reports as required.
· Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation.
· Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies.
· Coordinate production workflow for multiple products.
· Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
· Determine manpower, equipment and components needed to cover production demand.
· Schedule shift per production needs; monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
· Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
· Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
· Keep paperwork organized.
· Collaborate with quality control, warehouse, procurement, and other staff.
· Build quality into work. Ensure processes are consistent with quality objectives; be aware of current quality levels versus target levels.
· Develop and achieve departmental/company goals and controls; make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity.
· Coordinate on-site suppliers.
· Support and actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities E.G. Lean, Six Sigma
· Perform related tasks as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Bachelors or Associate degree highly preferred with proven experience as production planner.
· Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
· Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning).
· Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (SAP highly preferred).
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
· Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook) and MS Projects.
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
