The HR Assistant will assist in overseeing the daily functions of the Human Resource department including HRIS Management, Benefit Management, Leave Management, Onboarding/Offboarding, Recruitment, and enforcing company policies and practices in our Lynbrook NY Office.

Responsibilities:

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH ADP WORKFORCE NOW!

  • Assisting employees with HRIS (login’s, password reset, training).
  • Set up new positions, position families.
  • Manage benefit profiles within HRIS.
  • Create and send imports.
  • Run ad hoc reports.

Point person for Benefits:

  • Manages Enrollment/Termination of Benefits, providing forms and documentation to eligible full-time employees for health benefits.
  • Affordable Care Act
  • Workers Compensation, Disability, FMLA, Paid Family Leave

Enforce company policies and practices:

  • Reviewing termination requests.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include but not limited to safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.

Recruitment:

  • Assist with recruitment
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.

Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required. Experience in the field and role will be considered in lieu of a college degree.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
