Job Description:
Cru Concrete is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a newly created position, Bilingual Resource Specialist. The Bilingual Resource Specialist will provide a strong foundation for creating a more inclusive and efficient work environment at Cru Concrete, Inc. where all employees, regardless of language, can thrive.
The initial key responsibility for this role will be conducting a needs analysis to identify the barriers and gaps in communication, training, and engagement that exist for Spanish-speaking employees. With the help of the leadership team, they will create an impact plan to reduce barriers, increase employee engagement, and foster inclusiveness.
Needs Analysis Responsibilities:
- Review existing communication channels and their accessibility for non-English speaking employees.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of any existing translated materials.
- Identify any language-related gaps in communication, especially regarding workplace safety, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct surveys or focus groups with Spanish-speaking employees to understand their experiences, challenges, and needs related to communication and engagement.
- Investigate the level of engagement and participation of non-English speaking employees in company events, meetings, and team-building activities. Assess any cultural or linguistic barriers preventing full participation.
- Based on findings, create recommendations for company initiatives, both short and long-term.
Other Responsibilities will include:
- Translation of company documents, handouts, signage, and other required employee communication from English to Spanish.
- Interpretation in Spanish for new hire orientation, employee communications, and employee events as needed.
Job Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred, OR a combination of training, education, and experience that can be demonstrated to result in the possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position.
- Fluency, both in speaking and writing, in Spanish and English required
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Knowledge of available community resources
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, and the ability to adapt communication style to fit the situation and audience
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills to manage plan components
- Ability to operate openly and honestly to build and maintain professional relationships with a diverse population
- Experience and relatability in racially diverse settings
