CRU is seeking an experienced professional in the Stainless Steel Raw Materials (SSRM) sector to join our Base & Battery Metals Business Unit. This role offers the opportunity to take a leading position in CRU’s SSRM market services, with the potential to assume full ownership in the future.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the current SSRM market landscape, be able to identify and analyse future trends, and effectively communicate insights to clients. You will play a key role in shaping CRU’s market outlook and expanding our industry presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with market participants, confidently present ideas, and contribute to discussions with senior external stakeholders.
Conduct in-depth research and provide analysis tailored to clients’ business needs and challenges.
Develop CRU’s short- and long-term views on the Nickel, Chrome, and Molybdenum markets by conducting primary research and leveraging intelligence from colleagues across the business.
Communicate insights effectively through well-reasoned, well-evidenced, and logical arguments
Build, maintain, and expand a strong industry network.
Manage and analyse data to extract meaningful insights for decision-makers.
Work closely with CRU’s global team of analysts to build a highly effective and transparent research team, ensuring comprehensive market coverage for SSRM.

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree. Postgraduate qualifications would be advantageous.
Skills & Experience:
Analytical: Gather and critically analyse “soft” and “hard” data; including quickly identifying key trends and drivers in order to generate a view, conclusions, and unique insight.
Performance driven: Deliver against personal and team objectives, targets, and deadlines.
Commercially aware: Understand the commercial drivers of the role, always seeking ways to maximise revenue/profit whilst generating the best value for clients.
Collaborative: Balance the need to take personal initiative but also operate collaboratively as part of a group. The role operates in a matrix team structure that requires open and clear communication and understanding of priorities.
Mature character: Gain the respect and trust of the clients through confident communication with market participants across all mediums.
A good understanding about the stainless and specialty steel sector and its raw materials and a passion to learn and become a world-expert in the field.
Analytical or commercial experience in the SSRM sector would be a strong advantage.
Experience in report writing and giving presentations.
Ability to construct, deliver, and defend a compelling sectoral narrative.
