About The Role: The Capacity Finance Team Leader provides oversight to a team of financial analysts responsible for serving our operational/administrative divisions and executive leaders with financial planning, analysis, and advocacy. This role serves to apply principles of accounting, data analysis, and business intelligence (BI) to support the Director of Financial Planning, Analysis, and Advocacy, and provide insight for leadership.
The Kind of Work You Will Be Doing:
- Build a strong team by providing direction, delegation, counsel and expertise to individual team members and the team as a whole.
- Manage relationships with and oversee insight and analysis for all stakeholder departments and subsidiaries. This includes monitoring to ensure their reporting and informational needs are met.
- Engage with and present information to various subsidiary and department leaders, subsidiary Boards of Directors, Senior Financial Leaders, CFO, Controller, and COO to highlight key financial metrics and recommendations. This will include periodically attending subsidiary board meetings and facilitating the monthly managerial meeting for finance leadership to drive insight for decision making.
- Coordinate an efficient, consistent, and timely Allocation (core operational or Central) Budget process with a multi-million dollar scope, advising the Controller and executive-led Finance Council.
- Monitor organizational planning and budgeting processes to ensure complete and accurate budget information is compiled and recorded in the Financial System to assist departments and subsidiaries in effectively evaluating their financial position in relation to their resources and goals.
- Manage the preparation and presentation of the Capacity stakeholder budgets, as well as the analysis of revenues, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
- Participate in US Finance leadership team meetings and serve on other committees or task forces as required.
- Support the Accounting Team and Team Leader in the verification of operational subsidiary accounting information to enable consolidation of financial statements and consult on complex transactions.
- Advise on high level strategic and tactical decisions in collaboration with the Director of FP&A related to financial softwares and applications.
- Manage the administration and ownership of enterprise applications for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data visualization, ensuring that the use of these tools enhances business decision making capabilities.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports and presentations for monthly Management meetings, quarterly Board meetings, and various cabinet and council meetings.
- Serve as a spokesperson for business intelligence by promoting development in analytics skill sets and partnering with a network of analytics teams across Cru.
- Identify and develop innovative ways of using business data to inform decision making.
- Conduct agile ad hoc financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting for business performance to quickly support critical organizational decision making.
- Assess and analyze financial results, variances, and trends to identify areas for improvement and potential cost savings.
Experience and Skills:
4 year/ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 7 years professional or accounting experience; 3 years supervisory experience
