What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturer/Grave Service Provider position at Crummitt & Son Vault Corp.?
Whether you like to get your hands dirty, or you like the feeling of a crisp clean job well done, you can check both boxes at Crummitt and Son. We start you off in the manufacturing plant, where you strip, clean, and prepare our precast concrete molds. Then you will assist with the process of pouring the concrete into said molds. You will also paint and prepare the products for their end users.
Once you have an understanding of how our products are made, we will start sending you out to service our burial vaults. This requires an understanding of safety and responsibility, and the ability to present the vault and yourself in an attractive manner. You will eventually do this part yourself, so you’re going to need a valid driver’s license. After some training you will be using equipment specific to our industry to service our vaults on site in a cemetery. The only prerequisite for this job is a willingness to perform manual labor (and that valid drivers license).
We start you out at $16.00 an hour, and any raises you receive is completely based on your performance. A regular workweek is 40 hours, with Saturday funerals happening regularly but they are based on a rotation of employees. Any hours worked more than 40 is overtime pay (time and a half). Occasionally, some workers are needed on a Sunday or limited holidays.
Health insurance is available after 3 months, and Simple IRA (retirement) is available after 3 years. In addition to health insurance and retirement, you also get paid time off.
We are a small business. We depend on the attendance of our employees and cannot afford to hire employees who miss work. Our hours of work haven’t changed in 50 years so you are sure to get your evenings with your family, or yourself.
