PURPOSE
OF POSITION:
We are currently sourcing new AV contractors in
your area and would love to add you to our list for new
installations and/or service calls. If you are interested,

open AV installation or support call in your area.
Contractors
could be asked to set up and install equipment such as:
o
Sound
speakers, Microphones. Amplifiers
o
Electric
& non electric video projection screens, Projectors
o
Video
monitors
o
Recording
equipment
o
Running,
terminating, testing & connecting wires and cables
o
Sound
and mixing boards for events and functions such as concerts, sports
events, meetings, conventions & presentations
o
Control
Systems, i.e. Crestron
o
Digital
Signal Processing, i.e. Peavey Media Matrix, BSS Soundweb, Rane
o
Video
Distribution, i.e. HD over IP, AV over Cat5, HDBaseT
o
Set
up and wire racks.
o
Monitor
sound feeds to ensure quality.
o
Ensure
equipment is installed according to designated layout, i.e. PDF and
DWG plans & callouts.
o
Test
and resolve equipment issues.
o
Diagnose
and correct media system problems.
o
Coordinate
audio feeds with television images.
o
Send
in equipment for repairs as needed.
o
Switch
video input sources from one source to another.
o
Clean
audio and video equipment and store properly.
Requirements
To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below
are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience
in Audio Video hardware, software, network troubleshooting, basic to
intermediate operating system functionality or equivalent training
and/or education is necessary. Operating systems include: Windows,
OS X, iOS & Android. This position also requires basic to
intermediate functionality or equivalent training and/or education
in Control Systems and Digital Signal Processing including but not
limited to: Crestron Control Systems, QSC, BSS, and other
Processing. Certifications held in any of the aforementioned systems
will be highly regarded.
COMMUNICATION
SKILLS:
Customer
interactions must be handled with diplomacy and tact. Individual
must be able to gauge the customer's technical abilty and
communicate with them in appropriate technical or non-technical
language in a non-condescending manner.
DECISION
MAKING/JUDGEMENT:
This
position involves projects and/or assignments requiring considerable
decision-making authority regarding procedures, plans, and
schedules. Although there are sometimes problem-solving guidelines
for particular problems, there may be no existing procedures or
instructions for those problems. The technician may be on their own
in solving problems and determining satisfactory solutions. Ability
to work independently and in a team setting is imperative.
