Salary : 17-20
Position Purpose : To assist the VP of Human Resources to organize, implement, maintain and track company-wide talent management, compensation and benefits, training and development, compliance, and workplace safety.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties :
1. Assist with the staffing process; including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, promoting, demoting, disciplining, and terminating; and corresponding paperwork.
a. Work off the recruitment list to set up and conduct one-on-one phone interviews.
b. Hire based on direction from the Head Superintendent.
c. Run the onboarding process and tailor changes when appropriate to adapt program.
d. Maintain a 30-day onboarding completion program with newly hired Team Members to include OSHA respirator and hearing testing, and employee benefits sign up.
e. Maintain employee paperwork in the HRSM and keep track of completed trainings.
2. Assist with the required regulatory OSHA training and medical testing annual rotation schedule.
a. OSHA annual training and recertification
b. OSHA Respirable Silica PPE Requirements
c. OSHA Hearing Protection PPE Requirements
3. Analyze trends in compensation and benefits.
a. Verify Timecards before Finance completes payroll each Monday.
b. Assume responsibility to be the liaison for the office when there are payroll issues.
c. Audit employee benefits bill(s) against employee contributions through payroll monthly.
4. Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to a timely resolution.
a. Maintain HR email address and respond in a timely manner.
b. Bring pressing topics to the attention of the VP of Human Resources.
5. Assist the VP of Human Resources to ensure the organizations compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
a. Constantly seek information and look for changes in regulations.
b. Participate in a minimum of 1 compliance training web training monthly to better understand changes in industry standards.
i. i.e. JJ Keller, Foley, Fleet Complete, National Safety, Counsel, NCI, etc.
6. Maintain a fair baseline on all company HR policies and ensure they are applied consistently.
a. Recognize that each instance sets precedence.
7. Maintain HR systems and processes with confidential discretion.
a. Utilizes HRMS and LMS Software systems.
8. Assist VP of Human Resources with responsibility for IT for Team Members with company devices.
a. Maintain Maas360 mobile device management system.
b. Order new or replacement devices as needed.
c. Configure device set up, functionality, and use restrictions.
Performance Measurements
1. Team Member onboarding is standardized and trackable.
2. OSHA Training paperwork is utilized and tracked.
3. Safety processes are being utilized and tracked.
4. Monthly employee benefits payment matches employee contributions as audited.
5. Ongoing learning company wide is being utilized and tracked.
6. Feedback from Team Members proves to be useful in making Leadership Team decisions.
Qualifications :
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- This role requires strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Thorough knowledge of administrative practices and procedures. Understanding of governmental regulations and reporting requirements. Understanding of related auditing and IT functions. Broad-based knowledge of entrepreneurial business environment. Leadership and human relations abilities. Able to organize, coordinate, and direct projects. Solid analytical and technical skills. Able to use all related hardware and software mainly Microsoft Office Suite and online data management systems.
Experience :
One or more years of human resources experience and / or working in a business office setting.
Office Hours :
8 : 00am-4 : 00pm Monday through Friday with an hour unpaid for lunch
Expect to work 40 hours per week and not be bothered outside of work hours
