Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Leader for our Solid Waste Engineering Group to drive the growth of our solid waste practice. The ideal candidatewill manage client relationships, mentor staff, oversee project execution from start to finish, and handle communication with clients and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Solid Waste Practice, supporting project execution and staff development.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and prepare technical proposals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, generating repeat businessSuccessfully complete landfill design, permitting, and CQA projects.
- Design and permit landfill gas systems.
- Collaborate with clients to understand processes and develop compliance strategies.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for solid waste engineering projects.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Delegate tasks effectively and mentor junior and mid-level staff.
- Foster collaborative relationships within the organization.
- Required: B.S. in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Environmental) or related discipline.
- Preferred: M.S. in Engineering or Engineering Management.
- 10 years of industry experience in solid waste engineering.
- Familiarity with Midwest regulatory agencies (e.g., Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas) is a plus.
- Solid waste design and construction.
- Landfill gas system design and construction.
- Solid waste construction quality assurance.
- Permitting experience with knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proven success in client relationship management and business development in the Midwest.
- Required: Valid Driver's License, Professional Engineer (PE) License in Kansas or Missouri.
- Preferred: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (current on updates).
