Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA is seeking a qualified Senior Avionics Maintenance Professional for a position in Fort Campbell, KY supporting the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Commands Aviation Maintenance and Sustainment Office (AMSO).
Scope:
The Avionics Maintenance Professional provides maintenance consultation and logistics support to the User community. This role interfaces daily with the User community, Program/Project Managers, Logistic Managers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), and product vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to AMSO for all aviation assets and support systems.
- Direct technical activities necessary to develop support requirements that meet readiness objectives.
- Recommend specific or alternative measures and materiel management processes of assigned equipment to increase availability, maintainability, reliability, and suitability.
- Oversee the acquisition of Commercial-Of-The-Shelf (COTS) items in support of maintenance sustainment.
- Provide subject matter expertise for newly developed and acquired maintenance management and logistics support automation programs.
- Conduct system status/status reporting/maintenance briefings as required.
- Participate in ongoing assessments of current and projected capabilities and validate specific material solution information to the highest degree of system fidelity.
- Assess interoperability and commonality of components/systems similar in function to other DoD programs or Allied programs.
- Ensure support considerations are an integral part of the system's design requirements, ensuring cost-effective support throughout its life-cycle.
- Provide support in evaluating compatibility, interoperability, and system integration to ensure User required capabilities can be satisfied.
- Assist in describing system conditions and operational environments impacting meeting User identified required capabilities.
- Identify, analyze, and conduct trade-off support considerations with other system cost, schedule, and performance elements to arrive at an optimum balance of system requirements meeting the User's operational and readiness requirements.
- Analyze systems no longer meeting operational needs, or can be substantially improved in capability, or are no longer affordable to operate.
- Evaluate reported problems respecting total system effect, noting possible trends, and determining probable resolution.
- Assist in managing Special Operations Aviation (SOA)-peculiar, low density, commercial, and closed-loop systems and subsystems.
- Perform routine clerical, administrative, and logistics tasks as required in support of the AMSO.
Requirements
- Able to obtain and/or maintain a Secret or Interim Secret security clearance.
- Associates Degree in a technical field; Bachelor's degree in a technical field desired.
- 10 years experience working with military rotary wing aircraft and military logistics.
- 8 years experience performing professional aviation maintenance tasks with a concentration on avionics systems.
- 5 years experience with SOA aircraft and related avionics systems development, architecture, and integration.
- 5 years experience in development of avionics systems design and applications.
